Direct Validation Services, formally part of the Evander group, was acquired by Direct Group in the Spring of 2010. It provides the insurance industry with independent validation and replacement product services for contents claims.

With over £900m of contents claims settled by insurers every year, the potential for uncontrolled leakage is significant. There may also be occasions when a customer is contacted by multiple suppliers regarding one single contents claim, validating the claim against their own set of rules and all asking similar questions about the claim.

It is unlikely that the insurer and customer will feel that one supplier has total ownership and responsibility for the claim.

Instrumental to our validation service offering is our comprehensive database of products which provides real time feeds from leading retailers and suppliers. This advanced product matching IT solution allows our professionally trained claims handlers to accurately identify the original item being claimed for, through a structured process of listening and questioning. We are then able to identify the most suitable solution for the claim. The settlement is always a fair reflection of the policy liability, whether the claim is settled through repair, replacement product, vouchers or other chosen methods.
