Direct Group Opens New Site

Direct Group opened its new site in Halifax to service its expansion into property insurance administration and claims services. The property claims service arm will be headed by ex-GAB Robins affinity management director David Beaumont.

Managing director Derek Coles said "It was a natural extension for Direct Group to move into property based administration particularly in support of our insurer and lending clients' home and contents covers. We listened to our clients and saw an opportunity to deliver a service to meet their needs. As a result, we anticipate major growth for Direct Group in this area."

Mr Coles added "As part of our plans for growth we are delighted to announce David Beaumont has joined us. David brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the corporate schemes and affinities markets. We are continuing recruitment for our new site in Halifax and are delighted by the calibre of applicants received to-date."

Direct Group Hosts FSA Training Day

Direct Group recently hosted a successful FSA Training Day at the newly developed Doncaster Rovers Keepmoat Stadium.

The aim of the training session was to help firms work towards meeting the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF). The day was specifically tailored to meet the requirements of Direct Group’s client base using relevant case studies.

Direct Group's account manager Robert Delaney who helped organise the event said "the aim of this event is to give our clients an opportunity to hear directly from the ‘horses mouth’ the FSA’s views on how to best to apply the principles of TCF. This day represents Direct Group's ongoing philosophy of constantly working alongside and looking to help it’s clients improve their business. We did not want to simply run an "FSA Training course" it had to be something that added value to our clients and their businesses, and the level of positive feedback evidences that we have done this."

Direct Group Continues Recruitment

New Business Development Manager

Direct Group has appointed Charles Coburn as Business Development Manager to develop new and existing relationships with Insurers and Lending Clients with the single aim of growing Direct Group’s market share.

Charles joins Direct Group from Sterling Insurance Group where he held senior positions within the creditor and term life divisions.  Prior to this, Charles co-founded a wholesale insurance intermediary specialising in the provision of mortgage payment protection products to the IFA and mortgage community.

Derek Coles, Managing Director, said “Charles brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in Direct Group’s core markets and his extensive expertise of the market will help us deliver our goals for growth and diversify our existing skillsets.”
